Is he one of the most incompetent home secretaries ever?

Apparently he's going to "nail" that hooly who has escaped a 2 year prison term by activating a legal loophole. Correct me if I'm wrong, but surely the home secretary could have closed this loophole before the police, the FA and Portugese officials had spent months planning how to deal with trouble makers.

This situation embarrasses the nation even than the thugs embarrassed us in the first place. Not only do we export these retards, but we can't deal with them when they're sent back to us.

He's a complete clown.

The only thing more pathetic than the hooliganisnm itself, is the amateur way that we deal with them once they arrive back in the country.

Useless

rather than closing a loophole that would enable you to serve time in this country for a "crime" committed abroad, which i think is slightly dodgy on a human rights level. Why didn't the Portugese authorities put in him in one of their prisions the 1st place? er and throw away the key :clap2:

Coz doing that will cost em money, why should they have to do it, these thugs won't get back into Portugal again so get rid and let their own country deal with it!!

Indeed, very short sighted of him!:p

It is NOT the Home Secretary's job to "nail" anyone. He should leave it to the professionals - they may f*** it up from time to time, but what expertise does he have? Twat.

What an absolute wanker.

As my elected home secretary I would dearly love him to concentrate on something more important than trying to 'Nail' some bloke that's had a fight in a foreign country.

The way this bloke has become public enemy number 1 is a joke. Top politicians (if there is such a thing) are calling for him to lose his job. He's a firefighter and with the pittance the government choose to pay him I'm sure he won't be that bothered.

I'm sure there must be things Blunkett could be getting on with, like trying to sort out immigration.

He's just trying to impress people. I bet he doesn't try to 'Nail' every one of the hundreds that gets nicked in Ibiza every year.

As I said, what a wanker.

Blunkett has just created his own loophole.

The guy from Kent is now guaranteed a defence along the lines of "This can't be a fair process. The Home Secretary has already pronounced me worthy of a nailing. So I won't get a fair hearing".

Blunkett is completely incompetent at his job.

Perhaps a seperate debate, but, "pittance"??!!!

Totally agree with your Ibiza comments though - its ironic that he seems to be trying so hard to get into the papers when he can't read the things!
