Another thought about Mr Beckham... what is going to happen to him now that Ancellotti has left Milan ? He (Beckham) , is going back to LA Galaxy now , and the only reason he is in the England team now, is that he went to Milan and got incredibly fit , and played matches.....it was what Capello wanted.
Will the new manager at Milan want Beckham ?...if not, will DB come back to the Premiership?
I dont think there is anyway that he wont be part of the World Cup squad...BUT , he has to be playing and be as fit as he is now... just a scenario ...interesting !

It was a bit boring and predictable that every pass he made was an aerial, diagonal, 50 yard pass, but my didn't he do it well

Better teams will work that out and charge him down, but when he has time to pick a pass, he PINGS it across the park

He was excellent. Certainly worth his place in the squad if he can keep up his fitness levels

England often look a bit clueless when he is not in the team. When he is on form they play well. :goal:

Its how Beckham has always played....AND one of the things that i have always thought about him ( and i still think he is amazing), is that he does sometimes play too deep and crosses from too deep. The reason for playing Walcott, Lennon, etc is that they take on the left back, and try to cross from the goaline...David has NEVER done that.
BUT he plays amazing long balls with PACE ..and defenders hate defending balls coming at them with pace.
I dont , for one minute, think that he will start games in South Africa...but what an amazing man to have in the squad.

bit boring? i recall one point where Terry took the ball from him and made a little charge, i think even he was fed up. this has always been the flaw of Beckhams game, when the ball comes in from the wing the opposition centre backs know wheres it going and easy to defend. tonight at least the ball was finding the target far more but alot of the time to Ashley Cole who didnt utilise it. It was good seeing him in the middle spraying the ball about, but i'd rather see a wider range of passing. i dont tink he'd have the luxury of time or not having to defend against better oppostion either.

AND.... he should have been Man of The Match..NOT Glen Johnson !!

no, he really shouldnt. the second choice for MoM was their keeper.

Did I imagine I was hearing it, or were the fans booing everytime he got the ball, there was no mention of it from the commentary team.

apparently shooooot!

He got no assists.

Johnson got at least 2.

Dont think the number of 'assists'. is the criteria for getting MOM.......?? Is it ?
f***..ive been getting it wrong for 40 odd years .
Glen Johson took on his (amazing world class) left midfielder , and crossed the ball twice to assist in setting up two goals against a team that shouldnt have even been playing in the BS Conference.. mmm Ok !
