I can't think of who we'd play instead of Beckham - this thread is just the English disease coming out, for slagging off someone who's trying to do something for the national team .

England manage to find the black hole available in any part of space, and then get sucked into the gaping void.
The team might be injected with the determination to win the tournament now though, let's hope. Personally I think they did show they CAN do it.

we played well. we f***ed up big time, but we've got a couple of games to put it right.

I think that is sooo harsh, who has it been lately that withouth him we wouldnt have even got to the finals, he works hard and has played very well for us, thought didnt have great game vs french but is still our best player. i thought the mistakes yesterday was from gerrard was the big one, and i think is amazing player and did have good game, but what a mistake with the passback, shouldnt have done it, should have put into the fans. But come on Beckham has been brillant for england and without him be no where eg greece free kick etc, and has done good pens apart from turkey when fell over and yesterday, yes agree should hand over pens now if owen etc are on, but think not becks fault at all, yes would have definately won the game but thats life, im gutted but not his faulg.
Also becks isnt most intelligient no, but he deals with public brillantly and is real pro in the game, doesnt drink etc and is what ever english lad should try and be like, is a leader and i believe a real idol as changed his repuatation loads since championships got sent off.

2)sven should never have changed the team as much as he did, always unsteadys the ship, (remember chelsea vs monica, playing well then ranieri tinkered them out)
