Exactly, he'd either have had to wait until January or join a club in a country where their transfer window was still open when his contract was terminated had it been done after the closure of the English transfer window.
Surely Welbeck is the only free agent we’d be interested in.
He must be losing a minimum of £40k per week without a job so I suspect he’ll want to get a deal sorted ASAP. I’d like this thread concluded by the end of the weekend with Welbeck signing for whatever club but hopefully ours.

i'd be ok if i didnt have to run anywhere. just plant me on the penalty spot and i would fancy my chances of beating Billy"s goal tally for the Albion!

Seems a bit harsh on barn door Billy, surely it would depend which way up you were planted
....what caused the shift in odds though ? Maybe the bookies read NSC and only then realised how DESPERATE we were ?
