Not as a replacement for Painter but as a replacement for Taricco following his retirement. Gus is looking for cover for Painter but presumably if he can find real competition, then Painter's position may be under threat. Don't forget Taricco never started ahead of Painter in a competitive game only Calderon.

From that article he seems like a good prospect but could be a liability if his tendency to bomb upfield leaves us exposed at left back as we all know how quickly you can get hurt in this division.
I also think scapegoats are being sought for our recent run of results, we are a team in development, our first season in this division, not doing too shabbily so lets just see how things develop because I am sure we are going to have a good first season in The Championship. Gus & the team are still learning & if there was going to be a dip in form/results I for one am happy it's now after gaining a points cushion & that things will improve as this squad become a team.
