I was at both Chelsea games. Now, I don't remember this being the case in the fa Cup game, but last night, when in possession we played a 4-2-3-1; however, when out of possession, veltman slotted into the centre, minteh dropped to RWB into a new 5-3-2-0 formation. This was either an attempt to shore up more broadly defensively, or, specifically, provide depth and cover in the full back positions, where we'd been getting continually overrun all season. We've been highly effective against the top sides (who are more open and offensive), yet highly ineffective and naive against the lesser prem teams. Will be interesting to see whether we persist with these dynamic formations in the next few games.

Do nsc’ers think there’s a visible impact from DN’s appointment? Obviously we’ll never know why, but we’re now more pragmatic in moments eg Verbruggen going long when pressed with pretty accurate passes, also game management in the latter stages of wins.
Very hard from us from the outside to know who is responsible for what changes we can see, but results and performances have improved, so if I was him i'd be chucking that one on my CV

Some NSCers probably do think that yes.

In reality we don't have a f***ing clue what he's doing though, so its impossible to tell. But we're playing good football and winning games so its all good.

not trying to detract, just saying that he was being mentioned when we had the good run (Arsenal, Norwich, Ipswich and Utd) as to whether he was having an impact. Then when we had the two bad losses, (Everton and
Forest
), no one seemed to mention him, and now with 4 wins on the bounce there is the speculation about his influence again.

I may be influence by my FAB IN bias, but it feels like when things go badly it's all Fab and when things go well it's players/Danny N (still working on a nickname, maybe the niedermeister?)/some other non-fab reason. If he gets the praise he should also get the blame.

(I admit I got close to climbing on the fence after
Forest
)
