"Brighton boss Gus Poyet taunts Southampton ahead of match"

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/8984296.Poyet_taunts_Saints_ahead_of_Withdean_clash/

before i get slaughtered for another saints related thread.

I actually want to praise some of the saints fans who have seen through this gutter journalism story today in the Southampton daily Echo.

The daily echo are deliberately trying to stir up tensions and inflame fans by mis-representing quotes from Gus Poyet accusing him of "taunting" them. That is cheap and reckless.

"Poyet can say what he wants. He's achieved more than we have! It's one thing making a comment in November when all is to play for (like NA) but a totally different matter making one when the league has been one by your team.

Its not arrogance. Its fact. Its the DE trying to make a mountain out of a molehill!"

Le Tissiers nose I salute you sir :clap2:. Daily echo

good luck saturday

Apparently it's Daily Echo journos responsible for half the vile comments left on their own and the Argus websites.

Disgraceful...

Your quote from the Echo said " when we had already 'one' the league"

High quality journalism indeed never mind the content

By the seaside in West Somerset
They did exactly the same before the scc played at Bournemouth and some violence ensued - very naughty

If they beat us 100-0 we will still be the best team in the league as we have 93 points and they don't even have 80!

What should have been a meaningless end of season game for US (not for promotion chasing Saints) is now a big needle match, and I'm glad about that. This game should mean something, it certainly makes it a more enjoyable prospect. I actually don't have a problem with most Saints fans (some of whom have been very magnanimous with regard to our title win) but I am looking forward to Adkins and Hammond get everything they have got coming to them on saturday. Should be a decent game with a good atmosphere, what's not to like?

you're right wgray. I just copied and pasted original.

If it does kick off, then the DE should be ashamed for this type of provocative non story

What I am loving about so many Saints fans is that, even though they have not yet even secured promotion, they are already coming up with Adkins like comments about how we won't be able to keep up with them in the Championship next season. Gotta laugh.

Brighton factually.....
It is a none story, We have "Won" the league and have nothing to prove end of story that is a fact and that is all Gus is saying.
As for Saints fans saying they will do better than us next year..... just wait and see if we are in the same league next year first eh.
Maybe just maybe a little revenge for that suspect boring 0-0 draw with Tottenham back in the 70s will come back and bite there bumpkin rear ends.

Should be a great game and lets hope we keep our home record in tact just one more game at least !!

Relax. We're up. We're champions, the league is done and dusted.

Enjoy it, because the 800 Saints fans at the game will be absolutely crapping themselves for 90 minutes, looking for the Huddersfield and Peterborough scores, biting their nails every time we get the ball near their goal (well, assuming they're not 10-0 up of course).

Sit back, think about which away games you might like to go to next season, or how comfy your Amex seat will be. Enjoy the game and chuckle at the away fans, safe in the knowledge that, whatever happens at Withdean, their suffering and sense of injustice will go on until at least next week :clap2:
