I've decided to sell my (now) retro Nigel Dean Edge Reynolds 531 road bike. It's in really good nick considering its age (early 1990s). Can anyone recommend the best way to sell an item like this? I've used Gumtree and Ebay but they seem too local and generalist, respectively. How do I reach the hipster market that craves these things?

Thats my teen cycling years summed up right there...I had a Joe Waugh that was teal / silver fade paint job.
Still got a Rolls saddle in my box of spares - the king of all 80s / 90s saddles 😎
Lovely bike @BrightonCottager

Being at the Amex yesterday I obviously missed the Strade Bianchi. But from the highlights I have seen, it would seem that Pogacar’s dominance of the sport is set not just to continue, but to accelerate.

The man is not human.
I recorded it and watched late Saturday night. Is it wrong that a part of me cheered when Pog went down? Seeing Pidcock left on his own out front while Tadej dragged himself out the ditch had me shouting at the TV - but Pog just rode like a man possessed to reel them in that quickly. Unbelievable. I heard that Kwiat crashed on the same corner and had to abandon.
Yet again though, the spectacle of the Strade Bianche took my breath away. It is just a brutal, but stunning race.

Mr nickbrighton had his bike stolen from the bike racks by the Uni Sports centre, and beryl bikes station during the game on Saturday. They cut through THREE steel cables to do it, and got away with his electric bike, two crash hats , weather jacket and three locks, they for some reason also took my bell, tool kit, and rear light although left my bike which was locked to his, and so was not secured after they cut through the locks. (not sure what that says about my bike!)
We thought that the bike racks were covered by CCTV from the sports centre but on enquiring with campus security the cameras only cover the car park and approaches, so if you leave your bike there be awareits not covered by CCTV

This is the second bike he has had stolen, the first from the railings near the bus stop at Falmer station. We will now no longer cycle to the games

Absolutely love this time of year in the racing calendar, but what's the best way to watch now that Eurosport is kaput? I really don't want to fork out £30 a month for TNT. Any other, ahem, options?

Thats awful. I was at the sports field by the centre / Amex all afternoon with my sons uni baseball team, but certainly didn't see any suspicious activity when we were around that area before and after (we finished about 4.30)
I've been done for a parking ticket there before, with clear CCTV pictures, so surely one of the cameras has picked up something? Unless they headed towards the Bridge car park tunnel / BACA entrance of course...

After the theft story yesterday, I looked up the latest lock reviews, this now beats Liteloks in resisting angle grinders.
Also gets good reviews on cycling websites.

I wish I did, but not been down that way since I was about 10. Sounds great though! 🙂 Which reminds me.....this started in Bordeaux last week ⬇️

Dont know if anyone else caught it last week, but this new series started on More4, (Mondays at 9pm). Hugh Dennis and David Baddiel spending a couple of weeks meandering across the South of France by bike. More about the scenery & history than it is the riding - but its gentle, easy going silliness. My kind of riding these days tbh.

Just completed watching this series, fantastic viewing. Thank you.

Right, time for some geek opinions.

Im starting to get back into the road cycling again, and the Cinelli has been dusted off. However, I really dont like the black components with the purple / chrome frame - even though its all decent stuff. So, Im thinking of going "old skool" and changing it all, or as much as I can, to (polished) silver.
Do you reckon, A: I would be able to do it on a fairly limited budget. B: Get everything I need to, so its all compatible / setup the same as it is now (11sp) and C: would it look stupid if I did it bit-by-bit, as finances allowed?
I can get the seat post, stem, bars, and brake calipers easy enough - but the levers, chain-set, and rear mech are all proving a bit more difficult to source at a reasonable price. The wheels will have to stay as they are for the time being.

Anyone got any ideas, hacks, or know of somewhere I could easily get stuff? It may be a non starter, but Im really keen to give it a go, as I think it would look so much nicer.

Thank you @Stat Brother for sending me down a YouTube rabbit hole I struggled to get out of last night! 😁

I've bought a few bits today - for the grand total of £53. Im not sure how good the calipers will be (blast from the past vintage NOS 1995 Sachs, that just need a bit of a polish) but if they arent powerful enough, I've only lost £8 and can look at some more modern sets. Just saw them and thought they went perfectly with the retro look Im going for.
Flandria post & bars, and a stem off a Genesis. Got a 105 rear mech on watch....

Really tempted to de-anodize the crank-set (the rabbit hole I disappeared down last night!)

Seems pretty straight forward, with a bit of elbow grease.... 😏
