Former Albion target Curtis Woodhouse has been sacked by Porningham City
Birmingham City are confident that they will be proved right in their decision to sack Curtis Woodhouse.
The Blues sacked the former Sheffield United star for breach of contract in August for failing to turn up to training for three weeks without a reasonable explanation.
Woodhouse had gone on trial to Peterborough United at the time and had trained with them while discussions over his future were held.
The club and player were called to a Premier League tribunal on Monday to decide whether The Blues were within their rights to sack the 23-year-old.
Blues managing director Karren Brady is adamant that the club were right to sack the player for breaching his contract.
"We believe we were fully justified to take the action we did against the player," Brady told the Birmingham Evening Mail.
"He had a right to appeal and that's why a tribunal was held. Our view is that he acted against the terms of his contract and the tribunal will inform us of their decision within 14 days."
Woodhouse still has two years remaining on his contract and should the tribunal vote in his favour Birmingham City would be forced to honour his deal.
