Currie leaving won't affect us Saturday

In fairness under Coppell we were able to accomodate Brooker in a 5-3-2, with some sort of free role behind the forwards, so it can work.

But Brooker was quite often one of those forwards in a free role, with the three still in midfield.

He did on Saturday and although not his greatest game, he never went missing after a few bad balls.

I honestly believe that the sale of Currie could have the same affect that the sale of Byrne had in the 91/92 season.

agree 100%, though of course the survival of the club comes first, just shows how badly in the shit we really are.

Its very hard to see where the chances are going to come from now. Even on saturday when it was one of his weaker games he tested Pollitt with a 25-yarder and made the goal. Ok so we won up at west Ham without Currie, but in all fairness we could quite easily have been 3-0 down after 20 mins in that game. Other than Leon Knight there is no-one in the squad who can make something happen from nothing, and the midfield will certainly give a new definition to the word 'workmanlike'.

I presume that those people saying 'oh well Hart or Hammond can take his place' are joking. Albert Jarrett is promising but is a completely different player to Currie, being very direct, and is thus difficult to accomodate in the 3-5-2 system.
