Chris Hughton has issued an FA Cup warning to his Albion players over the test they face at Blackburn.
Injury-ravaged Rovers cannot go up and down but they have a quarter-final replay at home to Liverpool next month, with a visit to Wembley at stake for the winners.
Hughton reckons that will ensure Gary Bowyer’s side are up for today’s clash at Ewood Park.
He said: “I don’t think there is ever complacency, certainly not at this stage of the season, because everybody is fighting.
“Irrespective of the fact that they are middle of the table, they will still want to finish as high as possible.
“They have got a break after this game, then a quarter-final replay and I would presume places are up for grabs.
Albion face a twin threat up front from Rudy Gestede and Jordan Rhodes.
The 6ft 4in Gestede ended a five-game drought with his 16th goal of the season in Tuesday’s 3-2 home defeat by Brentford. Rhodes is on the same mark after seven goals in his last ten outings.
Hughton said: “As a team we have showed resilience and that we can defend quite well and this is the type of game that you are going to need that but you are also going to have to keep the ball.
“The two players up front can’t score goals unless they are getting a good enough service.”
