Cullip moves to Watford

Sheffield United have confirmed that defender Danny Cullip has joined Watford whilst striker Danny Webber comes to Bramall Lane.

Both deals are on a loan basis until the end of the season and Blades manager Neil Warnock will assess the situation at the end of their campaign.

with losing webber, not such a bad thing for us.

How does that affect the money situation if they get into the playoffs?

If it is a loan deal then he is still Sheffield Utd's player, so I hope it doesn't affect anything.

WATFORD Football Club has today secured the services of Sheffield United defender Danny Cullip until the end of the season.

Cullip has joined the Hornets as part of a loan deal with the Blades that sees striker Danny Webber move the other way.

The loan swap comes with the option for the deal to be made permanent in the summer if both clubs are still in agreement.

Watford Chairman Graham Simpson said: "We are delighted that Danny Cullip has joined us. He is a vastly experienced defender whose abilities will bring strength to the Watford team at a critical point in our season.

"We have been working with Sheffield United to bring about this move for a couple of weeks. Ray Lewington and his coaching staff were united with the board of directors in believing this was a good move for the club. Our best wishes go with Danny Webber as he joins Sheffield United for the rest of the season."

Under the terms of the deal neither player is available for selection when Sheffield United travel to Vicarage Road for the Championship match on Saturday April 23.

Danny Cullip said: "I'm pleased that the move has gone through given that it was set up a couple of weeks ago. Obviously when Ray Lewington left Watford I was worried that nothing would come of it, but now I'm very pleased that the loan deal has happened."

FFS, Danny left us for Sheffield Utd hoping to get in the bloody premiershit. If he goes to Watford full time, he must be gutted, surely?

Sky report made it sound like a permanent transfer TODAY!

If that's the case, that is a serious dent in the money we get for DC, as the play-off clause looked a ver good one.

All of the financial parts of his original transfer are unaffected.

If I was a Watford fan I wouldn't be feeling too chuffed at the moment.

OK they've got Danny who played very well for Brighton but they have lost

Webber

Ardley and Gayle - both ex-prem players with Wimbledon.

And they have no manager at the moment.

What happened between Danny and Warnock?? (been off internet for a few days, feels like a lifetime)

They had a fall out as DC gave Warnock a few home truths,so they have shipped him out.DC wants a permanent move but it depends on Webber wanting to stay up there on a permanent basis when the loan finishes at the end of the Season.

At no stage did DC have Warnock by the throat, shame!!

Like 1983, I've been away for a while. Is there a whole thread on this little gem ?

What I don't understand is why Warnock said no to loan to Brighton and yes to a loan to Watford.

Or was it DC himself who didn't want to come back to us?

Think Warnock used DC as bait to get Webber. Warnock has a track record of signing players then rapidly getting rid of them. He signed Luke Beckett in December, who got one game before being loaned out to Huddersfield and Oldham, where he has scored 6 goals in 7 games.
