Cullip and McGhee - who's in charge now?

Desperately trying to think of reason's why Danny's heart doesn't seem to be in it at the moment.

Has there been a change re "control of the dressing room?" This is pure conjecture, but I can't help thinking that with Taylor and Coppell, Danny was probably in charge of the team spirit and Taylor and Coppell just added an extra layer on top - picking the team, organising the training and sorting out the tactics.

With Micky - well Danny was his lieutenant on the pitch.

But with McGhee? I don't know. He probably likes to be "in charge of the dressing room" himself - which has maybe left Danny a bit out on a limb.

Perhaps that's why some of the other "characters" and "old guard" - Mayo, Harty, Jonesy are also out of sorts. It's a new order.

Just a thought....

I don't know why he is out of sorts he has just come back from injury so maybe it will take a while he was rested Tuesday. McGhee I guess is more vocal than Coppell so I guess it will take a while to get used to his ways.

He hasn't been playing well since Coppout left.Much as it pains me to say it maybe it's less to do with McGhee coming in and more to do with Coppout leaving!:nono:

Maybe he should wake up and realise that we're as good as it gets for DC. On the transfer list for 10 months and not one bit of interest. Coppout f***ed off without him and hasn't come looking for him since. If McGhee had an alternate choice right now I suspect he'd be dropped on the strength of his last few performances.

As for dressing room spirit-it is none other than Charlie Oatway who was/is responsible for what used to be there. He needs to get well soon 'cos regardless of what some people think of him-he will run himself into the ground for this club and that enthusiasm is infectious.

So who was in charge at Millwall? Steve Claridge or Mark McGhee?

I think that the choice of characters on the pitch may be something that Micky Adams and Mark McGhee may have in common?

It did occur to me that the best Albion matches this season when Danny Cullip was out injured. I don't think this is really a fault, but the defence has to be clear who does what job. I think Danny Cullip may be the controlling influence in the defence, and that the opponents may be able to exploit this sometimes. It should be something that can be sorted out. I hope it is sorted out before next week. It seems to me that Guy Butters and Danny Cullip do not naturally work together, so something has to be done ??? Neither have them have got the pace.

listering to Cullip shouting on the field on sat he seemed to have his heart in it even though it was an inept display (which was the whole team not just him) i heard him 3or 4 times dishing out bollockings and generally trying to gee people up .

McGhee had Dennis Wise as his lieutenant in the middle. Wise is a twat, but what wouldn't we give for someone with his desire and ability in midfield?

Oatway seems to be a character, but has never really been one to appeal to the fans (he mostly moans about us), and lacks much footballing ability.

We currently have nobody to make things happen in the middle of the park.

But that's why (last post) I have said put Danny Cullip in the middle of the park!

He cannot be any worse at passing than Charlie Oatway ?

Cullip would be worse that Oatway because he thinks he can pass. At least Oatway knows (usually) his limitations and passes to someone who can pass.

Cullip in midfield ? A terrible idea.

The trouble with Charlie Oatway is that he passes to the other side. Danny Cullip passes to nobody in particular. Danny Cullip is better at passing of the two.
