A desktop study to establish the number of diffusion tubes required and suitable locations. We have allowed for diffusion tubes at six locations, including along the site boundary and at a co-location with a council automatic monitor.
It is proposed to deploy triplicate tubes at all locations, to allow for the identification of erroneous results, which would be deployed for 3-months in line with Defra guidance, this being the minimum period required to obtain representative annualised means.
An initial site visit will be carried out to establish the survey locations and deploy the first set of diffusion tubes; this will be followed by two monthly site visits to replace the tubes. Upon the final site visit, all monitoring equipment will be removed. We will contact the client a month prior to completion of the survey following a review of the available monitoring results to discuss whether there is a need for an extension to the monitoring survey. Any extension will incur additional fees.
The monitoring data will be 'annualised' and bias adjusted following Defra guidance to allow direct comparison with the relevant UK Air Quality Objectives.

The results of the diffusion tube survey would be incorporated into the Assessment report (Item 2a), suitable for submission to SCDC to accompany the planning application, where applicable. Report submitted in electronic .pdf format.
