The BBC has secured the rights to broadcast the highlights of the 2007 Cricket World Cup.

The tournament in the Caribbean will mark the return of cricket to BBC TV screens after a nine-year break.

BBC Director of Sport Roger Mosey said he was delighted to welcome back televised cricket to the Corporation.

"Alongside our live commentaries on radio and our cricket service online, this is a further demonstration of our commitment to the sport," he said.

Throughout the tournament, held in March and April 2007, key highlights from all the main matches will be shown on BBC Two at 2315.

In total, the BBC will be showing 29 hours of cricket highlights

Wow what a "commitment" they have to the sport BBC2 at quarter past eleven. GOONS

The only reason i can think of is the time difference in West Indies, thats why they are showing the highlights at quarter past eleven.

But if its highlights presumably they can put them on earlier?

If they did put them on earlier, then the games could be carrying on. When England went over to West Indies in early 2004, did anyone see the time difference? it was 3:00 over here and the time over there was about 11:00 in the morning.
