Crewe by train - nightmare

whats wrong with going via wolves, its only a train journey, to be honest ill be asleep for most of it anyway. its the same length as going via birmingham new street, as someone said leave at 9.30arrive2.30 whereas we leave 8.30 arrive 1.30. Likewise going via derby didnt appear to save much time (approx 30mins)

Crap Town
Only one change needed for us as the Transpennine Express (now upgraded from 2 to 3 carriages) takes us directly from Crap Town to Stockport and then a shortish journey to Crewe. Hope to be aboard the 17.10 from Crewe on the return journey.

the train we are on leaves at 5.12, and we cant miss it coz we have an unflexible ticket to save money, was told its no distance from ground to station so we should be fine, could anyone confirm that

had me worried there, iv google mapped it and it looks next door. What isnt so clear is the town centre, we got about 1hour before the game, is there a nice area or place to eat, somewhere like a weatherspoons ect.
