Crawley is full of plastic Chelsea fans. There was even a Chelsea flag at one of their cup games that was on tv last year.

All time 1930s ? (only Man City can match) 84,000 record attendance suggests this could be or could not be the case despite crowds of 16000 in Division 2 in 1989..

Edit- oh Crawley? oh well not to mention the Man united following plastics

Courtney Richards. Believe he was ex Coventry youth player, big black guy with dreadlocks, keeping up the flair levels.

That's the only Richards i've seen on our books recently. Presumably DS.

Thought that generally it wasa poor match. The plus points were that Bridge had a full game and showed his class with many touches and showd he can attack like Joe Mattock did last year but defend better. Will be a good signimng for us. Dickenson Adgestein and Oatway were our best performers. Barker was very poor until the last 15 minutes and the match was a below par performance from our team and we didnt pass the ball around very much. A good point was that Ankergren was catching the ball as opposed to keep punching it as happened when Godden was GK Coach so that is a bonus..

you will find more red plastic scousers in Crawley than Mancs.... Not that anyone is bothered. (along with Chelsea and Palace of course...)

Thanks for this. We need more "just back from the match..." threads!

BG , do you think Wayne Bridge will give us a quality cross-field long ball option to further confuse the opposition at times when it is needed ?

When Wayne Bridge played for Southampton at Withdean, he was sound at the back with the tendency to pass long with much greater accuracy that Painter could ever manage. I do not recall a pass from left back to right wing, but even Modric only manages that about once every game, at most.

Lets hope not...

So a 60 yards precision long ball from Bridge to Buckley to score the winner against Palace would be out of the question ?

Pretty poor match, but then it was a friendly, first half we conceded two sloppy goals but did well to pull 2 back, second half nothing really happened at all until Akubuine came on for the last 10 minutes.

Yes I do as I think that he showed last night that he has the class and ability to do wonders for us. He played one ball facing our goal line over the attackers head and then ran around him to collect the ball and chase on up field. It was a delight to watch.
