Come to think of it, I did a day at a chicken factory. I'd almost managed to block it from my mind... Luckily I wasn't in the killing area, and managed to get away with handling breasts for hours on end.

Actually, I didn't know when I was well off...

I've worked there too back in the mid 80s, was in the Dishwash for a bit scraping the leftovers into a bin and trying to remove blowtorched steak and kidney pie from an oven pan.

Looks like theres a ex-Butlitz crew here.

I had a weekend job as a teaboy there in the late 70s. My job was to fill about 200 stainless steel teapots at dinnertime and take them out to the tables.

The cockroaches in the kitchen were terrible, they even got inside the teapots, but they werent as bad as the mental retards that worked full time in the kitchens.

I too got the sack for basically taking the piss, but progressed to a bar job at Henekys in Brighton which as a thirsty 17 year old bloke, was a result.

Coakroaches were terrible, we used to throw slices of cucumber at them as they scuttled up the wall, unfortunately that stopped when the aqssistant manager walked past and got a slice slap on his face.

i once had this rubbish job, whilst at uni where i had to sit in this posh hotel and test new alcoholic drinks coming out on the market
it was monday, wednesday, friday nights, 2hours a night and i had to test new drinks for 4 months
each night would be a different type of drink, i.e one day white wine, the next whisky based drinks, the next ales, the next alcopops, the next lager etc etc
to make it worse i then had to score them out of 10 and give a description as to why i like/disliked it
it was £80 for 6 hours work a week
absolute hell

Uni work!

I remember in the first year I had to survey people for two hours a day about national helth week.

It was bloody cold and wet, but it was an excuse to talk to fit girls.

After a while I realised no one was watching so I photocopied some answers went back to my room each day, ate some lunch and shagged my girlfriend.

I was getting paid quite well for that too! :jester:

mushroom laboratory . . . .tasks included washing and spin drying horse manure  ( I'm not joking)

I picked the damn things for a while 20 years ago, and still don't eat them. Come home covered in clean manure, OK it's cleaned and sterilised but it still stinks. Nasty horrible things... how can you eat something that's grown in poo? and still comes with some of it attached!
