Anyone know what was going on in Cranbourne Street (the small pedestrianised bit between West Street and Churchill Square) this morning? There must have been 5-6 police cars and vans around there and the road was cordoned off at West Street.

I can confirm that I know nothing of the incident.

Montpelier Rd was also the host of a couple of ambulances and two Police cars on Saturday night, right outside Uncle Sams. Any news on that?

Yes. I can confirm it's pronounced Mount-Pelly-Ah.

This is pure conjecture but some of the shops down cranbourne are supposed to have a bit of rivalry and the odd dodgy fella running them. One was burned out last year, could be something to do with this?

it can be dodgy down that road cos sometimes you forget that traffic is allowed up there because it looks like a pedestrian zone and vehicles can turn into it very quickly.

Mate of mine said that just from reading the article. Hopefully the council will notice the problem now, and resolve it.

RIP Jane Doe.

I appreciate it isn't the central issue in this sad story, but when did dust carts stop being dust carts and become refuse lorries? I prefer the term 'dust cart'.
