Noone side step and through ball to Buckley, for the winner on the opening Amex league game, was not too shabby.
He was on fire for periods here, he is not a player that can sustain his form over a season though, usually starts well, fades in the mid season and then regains form for the last 6 or 7 games. Would have him back in a heart beat, even knowing you only get half a season of him in top form.

Wingers like Noone who can genuinely run at defenders and beat them are pretty rare nowadays. Yes his end product could be better but he is still better than anything else we currently have. No one also looks better from the start of the match than Lua Lua. Anyone that thinks he wouldn't add to our squad has an over inflated and unrealistic view of the kind of player we are likely to land.

But saying he's better than everyone else the club has got, isn't exactly a ringing endorsement either, is it?

That's no different to Stevie Wonder buying a new pair of glasses.
They're better than the ones he's currently got, but he still can't see.

Why add a player who's end product could be better and has issues with consistency, into the squad crying out for consistent final ball end product?
