Be interesting to see how he does in the Championship. He would at least get a run of games under Adams, cant say it would end in success but who knows?

£500,000 fee! :lolol:

He's done very well at Chesterfield and scored a lot of goals, but I don't think he's the sort of player you want for a relegation battle. He certainly wasn't here. I don't wish the man any misfortune, if he gets a move to a club like Sheffield United then he's done very well for himself. But there is no way he's good enough for that level, and he is deffinitely not twice the player that Craig Noone is.

I'm I the only one who hadn't realised Micky actually GOT the job?!

This wouldn't be too bad, if he hadn't been in charge of two games already. And even then, it's not that bad. Is anyone really that interested in the relegation fight from the Championship? Usually, we'd be watching it and wondering who we'd be playing next season. This season, we're watching it wondering who is going to miss out on a trip to Falmer!

Well I wouldn't be surprised if he plays a blinder for them.

I always thought he had the tools (touch, pace, strength, awareness, workrate) just not the confidence in front of goal after missing some howlers here and having some of the fans on his back as a result.

Good luck to him. I think he could prove a lot of doubters wrong.

Agreed. sometimes things just don't work out for a player, to simply label him useless is a bit unfair imo.

Would be a great move for him and i wish him all the best wherever his future lies.

£500k!? If that is true, it is mental. Best wishes to MA and to CD but I can't see this working out.

You've got me all Craig, I'm not slagging you off. Good luck to you at Sheffield United, if that does go ahead. If I might offer some advice though? Don't sign up to their forum. Things didn't work out for you here, I suggest that it didn't help your confidence coming on here and reading people refer to you as Barndoor, and Barney, and all that rubbish. It can't have helped you and it didn't help us as a team having you playing without any confidence at all. If you do sign for Sheffield United, I hope you make a better impression on their fans than you made on ours.

I didn't like you as a player because you were terrible for us. We've moved on, and you could be playing in a higher league than we are (at the moment). Time for you to move on, mr Davies.

I would be delighted after the way he was treated by Brighton "fans". Hope he continues to show his worth

I think the problem was that he came here without having any time to settle. We needed goals straight away, and when he couldn't produce, in a struggling team, he was written off by many. I was never his biggest critic to be fair, I think all players need time to settle. But the fact of the matter at the time, was that we were struggling badly and we needed our new striker to score some goals. But he didn't. The Northampton miss was absolutely shocking, and set the tone. The abuse he suffered at MK Dons was unfair, I wasn't there that day but I was listening on the radio and read all the reports on here.

As I said, it didn't work here. We all know why, the circumstances weren't in his favour and we couldn't wait for him to improve. I don't think anyone has any ill feeling toward the man, he just wasn't a good player for our football club.

One final thing actually, another reason he didn't work out here in my opinion is because the team was struggling when he got here. Sheffield United are struggling aswell, in a much better league. I don't think this would be the right time for Davies to move to them, why take the risk of it going sour? Stay at Chesterfield for the rest of the season, score 25-30 goals and win the division, then see what offers you get in the summer. Surely that would be a better idea? Just my opinion, of course.

Definitely. I still agree with Gus's view that Holroyd has got more ability. But whether it'll happen for him, I'm not so convinced. Well done Craig if he makes it to the Championship.

Looking back Craig has a lot in common with Ashley Barnes; both hard working players who give a lot of energy to the team and seem to have a knack at getting into goalscoring positions. Big difference between them is that one player was shown more patience by the fans when missing guilt edged opportunities while the other received unfair abuse. I love our Ash and am glad we have him but hope all works out for Craig as the lad was never given a fair crack. Who knows if he joint us at a different time maybe he would be being talked up as being worth £1million and we would be hoping to hold on to a 25 goal a year striker that everyone on here so craves.

You should never have taken the 25 shirt number though Snoopy!
