I'll look out for that. I travel to Sweden upwards of 3 to 4 times a year and the price of beer is so eyewateringly steep that you need to get pissed just to forget about it.

I had two teenagers in tow, so after a couple with an evening meal, we were happy to have a few in one of our hotel rooms (with a tactically requisitioned minibar fridge). Decent beers only about £1 to£1.50 a can in the 'System bolaget'.

To be honest, despite the reputation, even a beer out didn't seem THAT dear. £6.50 or so a pint, mostly. Dear enough, for sure, but not enough to stop you enjoying two or three.

True. What about someone you don't know particularly well?

My usual tactic is to decline and if they comeback with a decent beer for themselves my usual response is "do you know what I will have a beer after all".

A reasonable tactic to avoid supping a can of Skol or Stella.

And if they do then bring you out a Skol?

As an aside I had Brewdog Jet Black Heart, nitro, last night. That's a ready made classic. About as good a Stout as you can get.
