When do they intend to sack him, on the his hospital bed or when he gets out?

Could be an interesting timeline from Palace....

"Everybody at the club sends their best wishes to Roy for a speedy recovery."

"We are pleased to report Roy is back home with his family"

"Roy Hodgson has left the club by mutual consent"
Or, more likely .....
"Roy has decided to retire due to ill health. We hope he enjoys his retirement present of a pewter tanker."

Brighton factually.....
Oliver Glasner has agreed to be their manager according to The Times.
Class, did he say that as he casually stepped over Roy withering on the ground in front of him.

Terrible timing and handling of the media around the whole thing.

Strictly speaking, if RH retires he loses compensation so monetarily speaking, he’s better off being sacked.
If Parish had any class, he’d offer a Life Presidency or similar to him.

Wishing Roy well. At the same time entertaining the notion he collapsed after going apoplectic when they interrupted training to sack him.

Why feel sorry for a manager because their new job will be in challenging circumstances?

If the situation wasn't challenging, then there wouldn't be a job vacancy in the first place :shrug:
It's rare, but it happens. RDZ walked into a team that was in the top 4 of the world's best league and had won its last game 5-2. Even the situation at BHA when Graham Potter arrived was pretty good in terms of resources, stability and long-term plan. It was just obvious to Bloom/Barber that Hughton had taken us as far as he could.

One major issue that Palace have at this juncture is that - as pointed out by the Football Ramble - the following is an offence under the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981;

under Part 1, Section 1 (5) it is an offence punishable with imprisonment for a period of up to 6 months to intentionally or recklessly:

  • Disturb a Barn Owl while it is building a nest or is in, on or near a nest containing eggs or young.
