Could Noone be leaving?

This is really just idle speculation-I have no inside information or anything else to support this.

But like most of us I was completely taken by surprise today. One thought occured to me- what if the club believed an offer for Noone was coming in January?

If a premiership side made an offer for Noone, we would presumably not stand in his way (e.g. Bennett). If a pre-contract offer was made at the right price this could certainly explain tying up LuaLua now.

Any thoughts?

No disrespect to Nooney as he is brilliant but I don't think his final ball is good enough for premiership teams to be looking at just yet.

But he's young , has pace and not afraid to take players on.

and a lot is made of his final ball BUT a final ball is around having players in decent positions to get it too - seems like a World away since we had that!!

The better we play in the championship the more chance we have of losing players to top Premership clubs. Gus and Tony have a long term view and if Noone for example goes for 2-4 million then that would allow us to replace him with a player for say 2-4 million. So good buisness for the long term and our standing allows us to replace players bought in league one for better players that know how to get promoted and play at a premership level. But surely Dunk, Bridcutt, CMS etc etc will always be prone to Premership poaching.

Noone has been quality at times this season, lately he has been average like all our players because the attacking intent has been zero, noone will be here for a long long time:)

Even though he'll have gone in a few scouts notebooks this season, he's not ready for a step up to the Premier League yet. If he was going to move anywhere it would be to somebody else in the Championship. Don't see why he would though.

I doubt very much that Premier clubs are eyeing him up other clubs may be however, but I think that it is more a case of Poyet sticking to his original idea of wanting 2 players competing for every position.

As Jam the Man posted earlier today in the KLL thread, Gus mentioned LuaLua in the Fans Forum and was certain then that he would be here for years to come. Signing KLL today has no bearing on whether Noone has an offer or not. It's far more to do with it being 12 months since his injury and insurance. I think someone else mentioned that it is 6 weeks to the transfer window opening and pre window deals can be done now.

No disrespect to the lad but like the rest of our team he does not have the physical presence for this division let alone the premiership.

Noone has been great for us this season, his all round game has improved under Gus and will continue to,has good potential and could make the grade as a PREM.winger, hopefully with us.Hasn`t been getting much service from central midfield of late.Better than LuaLua
