Im shocked to hear all this...ive been assured by NSC's UKIP support that he represents the mood of the nation (Despite a poll suggesting that 40% consider UKIP as racist)

I know it's Music to your ears. Can you offer me a solution to UKIP then, because at the moment I can't stand the way the EU is being run for many reasons.

From within. To align yourself with a group, that, lets face it, is full of racists and borderline Nazis is pretty daft.

I quite like him but he will never end up a great political leader. The party behind seem to be a mixed up crowd. I would rather have a pint with him than another politician. He is shaking up Westminster which is amazing as UKIP do not have one seat in parliament and probably will end up with just a couplle ?They will get quite a few Euro seats which is crazy as they will be made up mainly of protest votes that us British seem to do.

I wouldn't have a drink with him as if he had his way he'd have a smoke and probably wouldn't even ask if I minded!!!

As for the interview, found it very entertaining and Farage was made to look the fool he is. Pretty much a one policy party. I suspect O'Brien would or has done a similar demolition job on any party leader!

presuming you mean alternative as opposed to solution try The Socialist Labour Party,Mr Scargills outfit. They want a complete withdrawal from the EU also. They must clearly be racist also for advocating this but at least you can be a left wing racist with puppies for police and rainbows farting free fossil fuel........whats not to like?

Actually I lived opposite some Eastern Europeans in Luton. There where about 9 people living in that house, I didn't like that. To have 9 people living in a house designed for a maximum of four people is just weird to me, but it spelled out the type of crappy economy we have in this country now. That rings true with the cheap labour argument.

i've known alot of people living like that. called students. never understand how if we live 2/3 to a room as students or labourer's etc its hanrdworking, but as soon as its foreigners, its boo, hiss, get 'em out.

And what, exactly, do you want your UKIP MEP to do, when they get in ?

It's just a vote to make the parties realise how many people want a say weather we stay in the EU or not , I don't want to stay in the EU and I am 51 , got my own business and can make my own mind up thank you !! most people on here are so liberal it is untrue , but it's a democratic election and you can vote for who you like .

One of the latest opinion polls is forecasting UKIP will take 35% of the vote and the Greens pushing the LibDems down to 5th place in the Euros on Thursday.

You just don't get it. Don't live in Luton now, but I would call that a proper multicultural town.

I do understand, I don't think I'd want to live next to a house that is overcrowded, and with people who cause damage. The fact that you and Farage mention that they're Eastern European though, is exactly what the thrust of the interview was about, that UKIP has a racist theme at the heart of the party. We're not actually talking about the rights and wrongs of immigration controls or Britain's membership of the EU but what the core beliefs of the party are and I'm afraid that Farage was exposed for exactly what he is.

You are right. Who would want to live next to a noisy overcrowded house. However, as you say, it could be anyone. It could be English, German or Scandinavian students, Irish travellers, a hostel for prisoners on licence, it could just be a large rude and noisy English family. Farage chooses to pick on particular ethnic groups and thereby creates fear and loathing against them. We can all probably agree on what is good behaviour and what is not. Lets focus on that rather than trying to label particular groups with particular behaviour. Therein lies division and ultimately of course far worse

Or is he just a passing sideshow?

The EU is for most people a sideshow. In that most people cannot make a direct link between their wellbeing or their impoverishment and the EUs responsibility for it, or in other words it not a transparent effect. Same for the greens in a way. They need to get lucky and things to fall in their lap to register a win in bi-elections etc.

Untill that is the single issue does become transparent, this is most likely to be over-population and the looming housing crisis, only then would you see the likes of farage or griffin in number 10.

You seem to have missed the NSC poll that gave UKIP 30% - a lead over the Greens who were the next party of 10%. You can scoff as usual but even on here UKIP has significant support.

and whats that got to do with 40% considering the party to be racist?

40% of people (mostly the looney left and the mindless hoard) believe the media frenzy about UKIP. They have more nutters than the mainstream parties at the moment because they are evolving more that the other parties. Ukip have some good representatives who have left the three main parties but nobody likes to shout about them as it will not sell papers.

ah, the 'mindless horde'...what a respectful view of Britain, and its citizens.

Thank goodness we have the loonies of UKIP to rely on.

If Nigel Farage ever got into number 10 I would try and find Phil Collins escape tunnel out of the country.

This is an interesting article, based on what UKIP supporters' views are on economic issues.

http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2014/may/16/ukip-divided-left-right-cut-labour-support

Suffice to say, those supporters will be a tad shocked when they realise that they've voted in a party that supports a flat tax, privatisation of the NHS, the return to a grammar school system, the end of maternity leave, the expansion of nuclear energy, the end of renewable energy, ...
