Isn't that what Ince's agent said as it was announced on NSC that the job was his?

Oh dear, if true

Not saying that isn't the case, but I think he would say that. If a meeting of the Board and Coppell was taking place, then I'm sure confidentaility would be asked for including a denial of approaches etc. It suits both parties not to be pressurised into making decisions

Think of it a bit like Venger when he miraculously misses one of his players hacking someone down. Blatant denial in the face of overwhelming evidence suggests to me that Coppell has certainly been contacted and indeed is just at this moment reviewing his Player Budget options.

Agents always say this. Considering Coppell is red-hot favourite, the last thing either Coppell or the club need is for the agent to come out and say 'oh yes, Brighton have been in touch, and they'll be having talks this week'.

Means diddly - and it's almost certainly not true.

Why should it mean nothing?

Coppell is a free agent and we are managerless. If Bloom wanted Coppell then we'd do exactly what the agent says HASN'T been done, i.e. make an approach.

The only reason for not making an approach is that either Bloom doesn't want Coppell OR he doesn't want to be turned down by Coppell and make other managers feel second best.

Calm down everyone. It's only been TWO days. If you listen to the Bloom interview he makes it very clear he's going to take his time and is probably taking advice and drawing up a short list. To me it's a no brainer, you go for Coppell but I'm not the chairman. This is a big decision for him. There is the possibility that Coppell would want to wait for a Championship club so Bloom must have some other options. TB will be only too aware that the club cannot afford another managerial screw up now. I suspect there'll be no news this week.

why would coppell's agent lie? Maybe just maybe as said above we are taking a bit of time, got 11 days before the next league game, to get the right appointment.

why would coppell's agent lie?

Why would any agent lie? They're always saying no approach has been made, then the next day the man concerned is installed as manager.
