Coppell hints at Reading move
Coppell has hinted that he may leave Brighton
Brighton boss Steve Coppell has fuelled speculation that he will take over as manager of Reading after he met Royals' chairman John Madejski on Wednesday.
Coppell hinted that this weekend's home game for the Seagulls could be his last in charge.
"It would be disrespectful of me to do anything other than give my full concentration to the team when I am here," he told The Times newspapaer.
"We've had a good run and I want that run to finish on a high."
Coppell's name has come to the fore after former Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle dropped out of the running.
Hoddle out of Royals' running
Hoddle's agent Dennis Roach said Hoddle had not even been interviewed for the Reading job.
Brighton chairman Dick Knight admitted Coppell had spoken to Reading, but said he was hopeful the former Crystal Palace manager would stay at the Withdean Stadium.
"I've put a number of issues to him regarding why he should stay," Knight said.
"He is mulling those issues over, together with the offer he has had from Reading.
"He is very much his own man. It's not a done thing, but who knows?"
