Sorry to post such an inane thread but I am genuinely interested in this as I thing I am being ripped off.

I took a pair of shoes to be resoled. I was told that I could have hard wearing rubber soles to replace the leather ones that were already there. I went to pick them up last night and was told that they needed leather and that it was £28. This I might add was already done. I felt that £28 was a lot even for leather soles especially as they were not done as I had asked so I refused to pay and told the assistant politely to do as I had been told originally.

I don't think I'm being unreasonable but £28 ? What does anybody else pay ?

I buy new shoes.

Well you have to, given the amout of excrament you have to step on to get to Selhust Park. I mean, it's now an established fact that Crystal Palace are in the shit.

Where did you go? dish the dirt so that other posters don't get stung!

Try the fella in George Street, Brighton...just down from the Amex headquarters and practically next to the Queens Head pub (ignore the scary dykes often standing outside having a smoke).

This bloke is a top cobbler, knows his stuff!

hmm I always have this situ with shoe repairers. They will be on be insistent on using leather soles. However a specialist repairer I used in the east end nr Petticoat Lane always used a rubber sole to repair a leather, upper even Loakes or churches. It is a bit of a rip off I am afraid as is not just being able to get one shoe re soled in an emergency!

Quite clearly you HAVE been ripped off.

They have fitted something more expensive than the pre-agreed price and failed to inform you before doing so.

I thought you were the one down at heel.

Coat.

The only heels I worry about are the ones who follow Palace. It's time your fans faced reality and started selling The Big Issue at 'home' games.
