I never said Freedman is shit, he has done very well to keep you up. However unless CPFC2010 loosen some purse strings things will be no better than this season. A lot of your fans have been saying that there is cash for strengthening, Freedman could have done with some in the transfer window. Nobody is blaming you for celebrating survival, God knows we have in the not to distant past however it shows the difference between BHAFC and CPFC, one team is on the up and the other is not. I could be wrong but frankly do you honestly see much of a future ? We have now got a decent stadium, we have a reasonable season next and then no doubt there will be the same demand for season tickets. Tony Bloom would be happy to expand the Amex to bring it up to 30,000. We have had those sort of crowds in the distant past and given that whilst some BHA fans get misty eyed about the Goldstone it was not a patch on Falmer. As for you, well things might improve if CPFC2010 follow through and move into the Athletics stadium (something I have been saying for a long time now) however even so that will need a fairly expansive and thus expensive refit, how good is your credit these days ?
Still in three years you might get to dominate League Two. It's great now that we know that we can look down our noses at Palace and make justifiably derogatory remarks, boot is on the other foot now, get used to it.
Freedman did get funds in January:
-150k Easter
-400k Moxey
-Agustein Loan
-KG Loan
-James Vaughan Loan Renewed
New Ground
Obviously escaped your notice that we have planned to build a new ground that is expandable to 40,000 if needed (clearly we're not deluded enough to think we will need those seats now). We now own our ground for the first time in 20 odd years. The fact we didn't own it is the main reason we have been into admin twice, paying £1.2million per annum in rent. Enough to cripple many clubs. Also, not the fans' fault if the club has been run by two people that have turned out to have as much business sense as a toddler.
Crowds have dwindled in the last 5 years, due to poor football and very poor facilities. Crowds are slowly growing again this season. Under a manager that is one of our own, we have every right to be excited. Youngsters have looked promising (Sekajja scored the goal that (sort of) kept us up with his first ever touch in professional football) and yes we do have money. Not much but certainly competitive with other established Championship clubs such as Swansea, Watford and Reading.
Looking down your noses
Really? I don't think Palace fans turn their nose up at Brighton... Indeed, many fans including myself, have a grudging respect for what you've achieved considering the shit you've been through. But we've been through the mill as well, especially as fans. Administration was not used as a cheat method, we were put in it rather than putting ourselves in it, and the main person who lost all his money was Simon Jordan who most of the debt was actually owed to (around 70% I believe).
The notion you're suddenly a bigger club than us because you have a shiny new stadium (which is incidentally still smaller than Selhurst) is laughable. You've been League One/Two fodder for donkeys years. We've not been outside the top two tiers for something like 35. That's a lot longer a period than the two administrations, so don't give it the whole cheat argument. It's true, you have a bright future, but in 5 years' time chances are we'll be in a new stadium and one of the top academies in the country. Reason to be just a little excited, no?
PS You're all bum bandits
