There was a rumour another 'BIG' southern club was possibly getting promoted tonight to the Premiership, seeing as Saints are already there that would leave our 'big' club as the poorest of the 'Premiership ready' trio

Yor 'avin a laff mush!

The moment in the sun comes about, because football being a tribal thing, is about getting one over on the other tribe(s)
When it's the neighbours, or near-neighbours, there is a piquancy involved and such a thing is best savoured, more often than twice a year.

You could wander over to our board and see plenty of comments acknowledging Sussex bods who are realistic but the real fun is in the splutterings of those who believe in a correct order of things and that any upsetting of said order engenders curmudgeonly and churlish viewpoints.
Near neighbours? Brighton to Bournemouth is about 100 miles. That's like saying Manchester united's near neighbours are Birmingham. They are actually over 10 miles nearer but nobody EVER said they were near.

Don't they make scoring look really easy?

Having said that, I can see only relegation for them next season. Still it's only about the money isn't it?
