jevs... you have one big problem. Pardew. By the far the league's most over-rated manager. I know Etherington had a knock but taking off both your wingers was nuts. I think he even stuck Harewood out wide for a little while? The substitutions visibly lifted Brighton...... it was like "well, they've chucked it all at us and now they don't know what to try". I honestly think that with more patience, West Ham would have got at least one goal eventually. Pardew always have to prove how tactically 'clever' he is... by, for instance, subbing off all his strikers when his side's a goal down in the play-off final. He was spoilt for choice today with good players and disappeared up his own arse, whereas we've got a squad of battlers who just plug away and stick to the game plan.

Shame because of all the London clubs I've always quite liked the Hammers.

There's got to be something badly wrong when you can bring on a former Champions League star for the last ten minutes, while the matchwinners have to call on their ex-Barnet and Wycombe midfielder, who's one of their best players!

Don't beat yourself up Jevs. A lot of teams will come up short this year against our battling performances. You are still top 6 and will make the play-offs easily I feel.

It would have been a very different game if Harewood's shot had gone in rather than hit the post - just as our game against Crewe last week would have been different if we had taken one of a number of chances before Crewe scored.

Very fine line between success and failure, and we are just about on the right side of that line at the moment.

I just think the so called bigger recent ex-Premier clubs need to realise this is a very close division, almost to the point where any club can beat any other club on it's day.

I haven't been to all the away games this season but I have been to a fair few!

The only home side that really impressed me with their singing was Derby but they did tonk us 3-0.

Sunderland got going once they scored. I got the impression Forest would if they had scored. Reading and Watford were pants!

(There again we are not always renowned for singing at our "fortress")

Absolutely. It was suicide to abandon the two defensive players/two wingers system in favour of three strikers - the wide men were tearing us open, and it was lookling like they had to score at some point. When he took them off, the onus was on the central players to create, which isn't playing to their strengths - and we relish playing against big, strong strikers - DC had Harewood in his pocket.

So much for an astute young manager.
