Confidence is a preference for the habitual voyeur of what is known as... (Parklife!)
And morning soup can be avoided if you take a route straight chrough what is known as... (Parklife!)
John's got brewer's droop, he gets intimidated by the dirty pigeons - they love a bit of it. (Parklife!)
Who's that gut lord marching? You should cut down on your porklife, mate, get some exercise! (Parklife!)

CHORUS:
All the people
So many people
And they all go hand in hand
Hand in hand through their parklife

Know what I mean?

I get up when I want, except on Wednesdays, when I get rudely wakened by the dustmen. (Parklife!)
I put my trousers on, have a cup of tea, and I think about leaving the house. (Parklife!)
I feed the pigeons, I sometimes feed the sparrows too.
It gives me a sense of enormous well-being. (Parklife!)
And then I'm happy for the rest of the day,
safe in the knowledge there will always be a bit of my heart devoted to it.

CHORUS

Parklife - Parklife!
Parklife - Parklife!
It's got nothing to do with your vorsprung durch technic, you now.
Parklife - Parklife!
And it's not about you joggers who go round and round and round...
Parklife - Parklife!

REPEAT CHORUS TWICE

Song 2

I got my head checked
By a jumbo jet
It wasn't easy
But nothing is, no

When I feel heavy metal
And I'm pins and I'm needles
Well I lie and I'm easy
All of the time but I'm never sure when I need you
Pleased to meet you

I got my head done
When I was young
It's not my problem
It's not my problem

When I feel heavy metal
And I'm pins and I'm needles
Well I lie and I'm easy
All of the time but I'm never sure when I need you
Pleased to meet you

Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah
Oh, yeah

Damon Albarn is not a ****, he's a legend and genius.

The sad thing about Parklife, without wishing to sound pretentious, is that I don't think most people really 'got' the song as it was intended to be understood. Most people seem to think it's just an anthem, or take the lyrics literally, whereas Albarn actually meant it to be at the expense of the sort of tedious world highlighted in the song, as he was at pains to point out yet again on Live Forever.

But f*** it, you gotta interpret it as you enjoy it. Albarn's still a genius.

Title: Sunday Sunday
text: sunday sunday here again in tidy attire
you read the colour supplement, the tv guide
you dream of protein on a plate, regret you left it quite so late
together the family around the table, to eat enough to speep
oh the sunday sleep

sunday sunday here again a walk in the park
you meet an old soldier and talk of the past
he fought for us in two world wars and says the england he knew is no more
he sings songs of praise every week but always falls asleep
for that sunday sleep

you dream of protein on a plate, regret you left it quite so late
together the family around the table to eat enough to sleep
and mother's pride is you epithet, that extra slice you will soon regret
so going out is your best bet, then bingo yourself to sleep
oh the sunday sleep

The last 2 blur albums are excellent... originality at its finest!!!

As someone who owns all of their albums, I think the last two albums have been far below the standard of their other work. My favourite Blur album is Modern Life Is Rubbish, but recently I have been getting into ‘Leisure’ which has some really good songs on it such as ‘Bang’ and ‘There’s no other way’. Also Parklife is better than 13 and Think Tank.

Title: End Of A Century
Text: She says there's ants in the carpet
Dirty little monsters
Eating all the morsels
Picking up the rubbish
Give her efferverscene
She needs a little sparkle
Good morning t.v.
You're lookin' so healthy

CHORUS:
We all say
Dont want to be alone
We wear the same clothes
'cause we feel the same
And kiss with dry lips
When we say goodnight
End of a century.. it's nothing special

Sex on the t.v.
Everybody's at it
And the mind gets dirty
As you get closer to thirty
He gives her a cuddle
Glowing in a huddle
Good night t.v.
Your all made up
You're looking like me

Its all about direction. Blur were indie rockers, doing their own thing (Leisure . Modern Life). Then they went a bit poppy (parklife (britpop), great escape (cack). Then they went back on themselves, doing what they wanted to do (blur). Finally, they went off on a tangent, radiohead stylie, and made two very weird, very original, and, in my opinion, very good albums (13 - then they got shot of coxon, and finally Think Tank).

I say fairplay - at least they are not guilty of pushing out the same old cack which has resulted the demise of Oasis, and others I cant think of!

I heard Coxons single on the radio the other day - Utter crap I' m afraid...

btw - modern life is my favourite as well...
