Here, there and every where
Pleas help me before the computer goes out the window.

I have a LOT of adaware and spyware on my computer. (how it got there i do not know?) But there is one resiliant little bugger who won't go. He's called "my search bar" aslo known as "search assistant" "my search" and "my way speed bar." Alos, as well as this search bar, i have a prompt come up:

thelastscreenshotdontbesilly.jpg

I have tried:
adaware
and Spybot search and destroy

But have got nowhere with this particular bastard. The only option left i have seen is going into the regisitry, but i don't really want to do that. The add/remove also doesn't work on this.

Have you had this before? How did you get rid of it?

Someone please help

Thanks

how do i do that?

is it quite simple?

I don't want to bugger up my computer

If you don't know what you're doing then leave your registry well alone! You can SERIOUSLY feck your PC up by dabbling in there!

But if you're feeling brave/stupid

goto start/run and type "regedit" of you go :)

Falmer, soon...
To Backup the Registry

Start -> Run -> regedit

go to the top level (my computer)

File -> Export. (choose a location and name (under 8 characters))

It'll take a while should be an export of 30MB or more

If you screw it up you can then import it back.

is the prompt with this common? will it go when i get rid of the toolbar?

adaware is good, though not good for this. Had over 500 pieces on my machine.

And thanks to downloaded penguin for giving me instructions on how to do that.

But this little bugger.....

Stop using Internet Explorer. No more problems from that kind of crud.

Download and install: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

Its a replacement browser. Its 4.9MB, so its way smaller than even the security updates to Internet Explorer. Its far faster, far more secure and has just as many features, including some IE doesn't have.

Internet Explorer use is like shagging a hooker without a condom, you're bound to catch something very very nasty and sometimes incurable.

That is until SP2 is installed.

Even when you have SP2 installed, IE will still "develop" serious holes, and quickly.

Get Firefox, and get it *NOW*. IE is just not safe to use, and never will be.
