My mate's just got a job in the call centre at NTL and says the wages and commission are very good. He told me to apply there as well and I was seriously considering applying until I read this thread. Cheshire and Bromley Gull - is it really that bad?

I had to call their help line one evening as I had lost one of the things I needed to re-install ntlworld.

I waited 1 hour and 25 mninutes on the line listening to a ringing tone, but I was buggered if I was going to give up. When I finally got through and the line was answered I asked if they were busy that night to be told 'no, not particularly'.

When I asked why it had taken so long to answer the phone the young chap on the end of the line, who I must say was actually very polite, told me that they HAD to answer the premium rate calls first - you know the ones charged at 1 pound per minute - and so we poor sods on the freephone line were continually shunted to the back of the queue.

I have not met ANYONE who has a good word for ntl.

I've been stuck on hold listening to that music. What makes it worse is the continual apologies from the robotic woman.

Stop apologising every few seconds, dammit.

And they really take the piss (when you're on hold in the vain attempt to get some help) by continually interupting the 'music' to try and get you to take more of their services:salute:

I've had ntl broadband since they introduced it and haven't had too many problems, however, when one needs technical help it can be a frigging nightmare....they aren't the worst though:nono::ohmy:

Try getting anything resembling English/help from Belkin-now there is a customer service department to destroy the strongest of souls. Their main call centre is in Bangalore but their operatives will tell you 'senior tech help is unavailable until later because we're based in California and the time difference means most people aren't in yet'. Yeah right-and I'm calling from Windsor Castle! If you sell your products in the UK at least have the courtesy to have help available during our business hours:salute:

Regardless of where they are-the bastards never call back which prompted me take all of their products back and swap them for another brand....
