Really hope they win today, and not just because that means we went out to the eventual winners. Much and often wrongly maligned club and style of play, be great to see them shake up the super rich fanny dancers.

Stoke showed us that pretty passing football is good and it helps, but quality counts too. A valuable lesson for the future. Stoke deserved to beat us. Yes they play unattractive hoof (Huth?) ball, but they do it well, they are strong, fit, and deserve their chance today.

Come tomorrow, I'll hate Stoke again. But, just for one day, I'll be cheering them on.

Maybe. But not the lesson you envisage. It wasn't 'quality' that beat us, it was physical Route One Lower Half Of Premier League football that beat us. Oh, and that shitty long throw thing. Quality never came in to it. We were out-muscled, pure and simple.

Good luck to Stoke tho. ManC won't be able to cope with their approach any more than we were.
