I hope Monty now gets behind Paul McGinley and shows a bit of solidarity with the team, especially having been Captain before. He was a great player but I do think he rather talked himself out of the running so got his just desserts when he might have been a Scots Captain in a Scottish Ryder cup, which must hurt him a bit.
I suspect that players like Poulter coming out publicly behind McGinley must have been a factor too. I do wonder if privately Poulter is quietly relishing the decision as he and Monty haven't seen eye to eye over the selection process in the past?
I agree that Monty is a poor commentator with too many of his insights twisted to talk up his own contribution. He needs to eat some humble pie.
