FFS, this debate is incredibly irritating.

If it really was a "serious" issue with CKR, then he should have gone public with it, or leaked it to the press. What at a football club could possibly be that "serious" that it would warrant CKR's general doesn't-give-a shit attitude?

Racist abuse?
Being groped in the showers by a senior pro?
Being told to wear black boots not white ones?
Not being allowed to text your mates during team talks?

To be totally honest, it appears to me that CKR's entourage are feeding the hard-done by line to the likes of Aaron (incidentally, JTM, your role in procuring CKR for the club doesn't preclude you from criticising him in any way), who wants desperately to believe because he doesn't want to see the great Coca Cola experiment go wrong. I'm finding it very hard to believe there really is an important issue behind the scenes, only that that's what the family want us to think to make CKR look better.

I cannot imagine what there is for CKR to justify his current attitude with, apart from the usual player issues, not playing, playing out of position, being dropped, playing in the reserves, someone being picked ahead of you. I can't blame McGhee for that.

Is Wenger a shit manager because of Reyes' attitude? Ferguson rubbish because Ronaldo demanded a transfer, or Beckham fell out with him? HIstory is littered with players getting the arse because of some perceived slight. It doesn't mean the manager (or the fans) should put up with it.

I hope it's nothing to do with bullying as I gather happened at Bury?

Wasn't there a story that he was kicked in the air by McShane last season for being flash during training?

The very first page gives this away. To paraphrase JTM the club are refusing to return calls from his agent, family and representatives. Why does a player need 3 groups to represent him to play football? Why should the club waste time talking to 3 groups of people who will in all likelihood moan about money / where he's being played / Global Warming / Price of alcopops in the Event? This goes on in all walks of life and if I was Dick Knight or Mark McGhee I wouldn't want to talk to his wanky 'representatives' either. Gary Neville is represented by an accountant he pays by the hour and that's it. CKR take note.

No matter what has gone on, I haven't read anything that stops CKR from running around, making an effort and proving people wrong. Apart from his attitude.

If only CKR was as good as he thinks he is, he would be some player.

What a disappointing post. It's not worth me commenting too much more because I don't know what else to say.. I suspect there's nothing more I can say that will make any difference at all... so i'll leave it with the hope that the full facts of what really happened to this guy will be revealed in time, and that in future if any players have issues that they want to discuss and sort out then the club become more willing to take the time to actually try to resolve matters rather then ignoring them.

Yep, sorry you feel that way. You will know that I've pretty much been a supporter of his for a fair while and I even defended him against the OTT criticism he got on Saturday at Rotherham. But the transfer request is the last straw for me, he has crossed the line where he can be given the benefit of the doubt by supporters. I simply do not believe there would be issues so serious that a person of the integrity of Dick Knight would be failing to deal with them. If I've misjudged CKR (or more accurately his retinue of advisers) I will happily eat my words but the facts as we have before us are not favourable to him.

Then why post this:

From certain story's I've heard,I know it's definitely a tough decision for him and these certain things that have been happening to him were disgraceful, especially because McGhee turned a blind eye to them.I certainly know that I'd be unhappy at a team that things like those occured frequently to me,but maybe if he'd confided in Booker,or one of the coaching staff,or even the chairman,if he badly wanted an end to it.

Where did you hear these stories? Who told you? Someone who knows? Or someone who knows someone who knows someone?

This thread is very very troubling indeed. On the one hand, if CKR is encountering a problem at the club which is endangering his welfare the club, as his employer, has a moral obligation to address the issue. I would be very dissapointed if the club had turned a blind eye to it. Especially when it involves a 19 year old kid.

On the other hand, CKR is doing himself no favours if he is using whatever is happening to him as an excuse to not perform on the pitch.

Football can be a nasty business filled with people who, whilst we may worship them from the terraces, you wouldn't neccessarily want to go for a pint with. I hope CKR is not overly sensative as this could hold him back from a promising career.

It's difficult but CKR should use anything 'bad' happening to him to motivate himself. Go out onto pitch and prove just how good a player you are.

It sounds like CRK needs a friend - surely someone like Wilkins or Booker can act as the go between him and McGee to try and whatever the problem is sorted?

Hmmm - not really tallying with what he said a month ago in france.

Kazim-Richards said: "I love it there. I can run at people, I can slide people in or score myself, like I did in this game.

"If I had to pick one role, I'd rather play there but that's a harder formation to play.

"Sometimes the gaffer's not going to want to play it.

"I've just got to keep myself in the starting XI wherever I play."

I bet he read this thread both last night and tonight, so if he does again here is a small note.

CKR, why don't you come and have the guts and speak to the fans? If you had an affection for this club you would speak to us but the way your attitude has been lately showes you couldn't give a damn.

Look at Joel Lynch, he is EARNING his place to be the best, wheras you believe you should be expected to be given the best.

Pissed off I am, but so should all us fans be because you haven't given any commitment in to trying to succeed for this club. Oh, and great CV by the way you have got - 6 goals in the Championship with several substitute appearances.

And look at the few times you did score, and certianly succeeded, if only you tried to do that all the time, you would do it all the time. EARN your place, DON'T EXPECT it.

:albion:

If you turned round tommorrow, told everyone you want to fight for you place, and really fight for your place, show it to the fans and with affection than the fans would quickly be on your side. It has taken only 2 wins for everyone to be fully behind McGhee again.

With all due respect 1066 how exactly would you like him to speak to you.

Ring you up ? :lolol:

I'm not sure this thread is particularly helpful to anyone to be honest.

I'd personally love him to stay.

Both sides sort this out for f*cks sake.
