FRUIT OF THE BLOOM
We are not going to play two up-front. People need to get used to that. At best, we'll play one striker out wide like we're doing with Barnes.

My favourite argument from those who are defending CMS's run of form is, "if you can't see how good he is you don't know anything about football." It's the argument of someone who hasn't got anything to say except he runs a lot.

What people are missing is that no one is really saying he's a bad player. He simply doesn't fit into the way we play. I can't see Gus changing things on the off-chance CMS scores a few more, especially while we're getting the results.

I agree with that in general. but dropping CMS is not going to make us look like more of a goal threat or score more goals

Its simlilar to the vicente scenario. you only realise the quality and what he gives the side when you havent seen it for a while

CMS is quality

it will come good for him wait and see.

Remember, Class is permanent, Form is temporary and this guy is CLASS.

CMS fitted in to the way the Posh played last season he does not fit in with the Gus brand of football. He will be class when he can score a hatrick for us like the one Philips got for Blackpool yesterday

Do you actually watch anything closely at all. There were two players called "Phillips" scoring for blackpool yesterday

A lot of unfair criticism here ! CMS is a centre forward and like most centre forwards is reliant on others around him to provide the ammunition. I watch him quite intently and he constantly probes along the back line, spinning and turning defenders and looking to make runs between defenders, but we simply do not have the midfield players capable of picking his runs out and delivering the right ball. A creative midfielder has long been our target. Vincente was obviously the man selected to do this, and in his absence Dicker, Sparrow, Harley and more recently, Jake FC have all been given a chance. Bridcutt and Navarro, though good players will never fulfill this role as their strength is winning ball and breaking up attacks, not hitting defense splitting passes. Maybe if Vicente plays more regularly, or we sign an ex Premiership midfielder we will see more of CMS but until then I dont think we will see what he is capable of. Until then, he'll continue chasing lost causes and closing down defenders in the hope he might be able to force an error. You cant judge the guy if he is not provided with the ammunition. Give him the service and then lets see how good he is.

Ah so that's it. None of our SIX central midfielders are good enough to pick out these ingenious runs CMS is making. I've heard it all now.

As I've said a few times, part of the lack of service falls at his feet because he seems unable to get involved in the build-up. So on Saturday when we did get the ball to him, he f***ed it up 90% of the time. That's not good enough for a £2.5m striker.

A fine and talented individual, but for my money he is an out and out central midfielder. Face it, he tackles well, passes, and does all the hard work.

A great payer, just out of position.

Just what I was thinking. Macca is more of a fetch and carry. The ball he put in for Agdeisten was superb. Total football says the players can switch their roles a bit.

I know I'm going to get flamed here by certain folk on NSC.

CMS quite blatently is not doing what we got him in to do, which for £2.5 MILLION as a striker , was to score goals.

At this level, we have all learned this season just how much class there is in this division compared to League one.

CMS has missed opportunitys game after game, and his link up play is a lot to be desired. in my opinion.

Sometimes in life, things don't work out.

Torres at Chelsea is an example, world class, but not happening for him there.

CMS could be the same enigma with us.
