This might seem a little weird but I want to buy a pair of the replica kit shorts on the club's website but am not quite sure how to interpret the sizes as they go up to XXXL (!!!) and I've no idea how big that is.
I would have thought I'd probably need a medium, but am worried they may be too small if there are so many sizes above it.

I'm about 5ft10 (179cm) and fairly average build (ok a bit overweight, 13 stonish). Can anyone give me any pointers? I obviously don't want a huge pair of baggies or some skin-tight disgrace.

Cheers

Most people I have spoken to, have said the kit is a little on the small size. My son is Medium size had to get large . The same for my Daughter she is small we got her Medium. This is the case for shirts.I would think the same applies to shorts.I hope this will help.

If you click on the size guide on the shop website it gives details of all the sizes. The medium shorts are for a 30"-32" waist, large for 32"-34".
