Whether or not it will be an issue in 25/26 for those who haven’t met the criteria in 24/25
I’m addressing the poster’s specific case, not the wider discussion which has been done to death.

So you think that even though I’ve already renewed my ST and they’ve taken my money etc, they will then take it away from me in a months time? despite the club never contacting me about my non attendance?
No … these Are the ‘new rules’ for 25/26 season which ‘could’ impact on your ability to renew for 26/27 season. You are perfectly fine for the coming new season.

Yep. Read post #889
Next season is fine. Otherwise, just call the club, experience suggests if you have a legitimate case you’ll be absolutely fine.

I honestly don’t think the club are actively monitoring this. They might suggest they are, and they might want better use of the exchange, but I don’t see any reason to think they are going hard and fast on this rule any time soon.
They are certainly monitoring ticket non-utilisation this season, where non-utilisation means doing none of the below:

- attending the game
- listing the ticket on the exchange (it doesn't matter if the sell-side of the exchange doesn't open or the ticket doesn't sell)
- transferring the ticket to another fan using the club's ticket transfer function

...because I (on behalf of my son), and others, have had emails like this:

"We notice that you have not taken action to ensure your seat is occupied for two or more of the fixtures this season so far, including Crystal Palace. If we can assist you with this please contact supporter sevices at supporter.services@brightonandhovealbion.com
A reminder, the season ticket needs to be used by you, as the season ticket owner, for at least 5 out of the 19 home league matches."
...and others have had their seat put up for re-sale by the club as they've not been using it on multiple occasions.

I'm not entirely sure how you've escaped that if you haven't been attending/re-listing/transferring your ticket, but I suspect the club will catch up with you sooner rather than later.

Fair enough. I believed different. But if this is the case, and the poster I was replying to who said their circumstances had changed since they purchased this season's ST (which meant they were no longer able to attend) then yes it seems they will not get an automatic renewal. If their circumstances remain the same for next season, and they cannot commit to next season, then obviously a ST is not appropriate at this time. If this is not the case then a phone call will most likely remedy the situation. T Either way I still cannot see the problem. I agree some people might not be comfortable supplying documentary evidence but unfortunately the club need to protect themselves and other supporters from chancers......blame the chancers not the club.

I can see a swathe of people being contacted at the end of the season based on their (non) usage................looking forward to the threads already

The T&Cs state that the thresholds apply when the renewal period commences (January 20th for the 25-26 tickets). So if people have already renewed they shouldn't be contacted at the end of the season (well next season as that's when the T&Cs kick in), the people not reaching their targets will be contacted in January.

Also because they apply when the renewal period starts the actual number of games needed to attend is smaller. This season we'd played 10 home games at the time the renewal period started. So season ticket holders would have needed to attend 3 games in person and make sure the ticket was listed on exchange or shared for another 5 games to reach the 25% and 75% targets.

But the clause states auto renewal will not be allowed, which means anyone who has already renewed should have met those thresholds as the auto renewal period was a while ago.
Yeah but 3.8 refers to 18........they can't logically confirm numbers for anyone until all games have been completed

3.8. Pursuant to Clause 18, the Club reserves the right to refuse a Season Ticket renewal (or to cancel an auto-renewal), if the Season Ticket is not Utilised for the required number of Matches at the point of renewal by the Season Ticket Holder and/ or User as specified within these Terms and Conditions.

Will they be dinging people who think they have already renewed ? I have no idea. Can they ? Absolutely.

The above clauses say at the commencement of the renewal period so they should take the figures from the number of games played at that point of the season. They can refuse a renewal at that point, but not once the ticket has been renewed or the season has ended. They could try to cancel them, but their own clauses should mean it isn't possible.
