Saw Ballonboy an dhis kids, did'nt have time to stop and chat.

May I suggest a different area thna the clocktower, its seems that a majority of people are found round by the Easy Bar and down that little sidewalk street. Not enough people go past the clocktower and as we cant go on Churchill because we need permission (maybe someone can get it) then people will need to spread out some more. Also the junction at the top of West Street has about 10x as many people than the clocktower.

Okay, as an ex flyer boy may i suggest Duke Street and Kensington Gardens. The clock tower is good but only because it is focal the main congestion of bodies is found at Kenny Gardens.

Also the PIER is a MUST place to hand out leaflets/get people to sign. Popped over there at lunch and its full of kids at half-term....think about all those fresh new sigs/petition candidates. Also is a tourist attraction so people from outside Sussex are bound to be hanging around there.

North Laine is a good shout from Chappers. Would make a nice change from the usual D 'n B and Salsa night shit they normally give out down there as well.

Course it's a good shout, it gets well busy down there.

Way out West
Sorry, for anyone that missed me - traffic was bloody awful (trying to get from Somerset to Brighton with two kids in tow by 12.30 was a tad optimistic!). Anyway, we eventually got set up at about 1.15pm, although the promised banners failed to materialise, unfortunately. However, no worries - we had 200 leaflets and 200 letters and they went in no time. Including an enforced break in Pret a Manger for cakes (that's what happens if you're with kids!), we were there until about 2.45-ish. Joined for the most part by Paul (who lurks on NSC), who helped the general joviality of the whole thing.

For what it's worth, here are a couple of observations:

1. The Clock Tower doesn't get nearly as much passing trade as any of the pavements on the main roads. However, for a small number of leafletters (three or four), it's fine. If there are more of you, I suggest a busier site;
2. I was flabbergasted how many people just didn't seem to have a clue about Falmer. OK, there were a fair few foreigners around, but not being a current resident of Sussex I was surprised and disappointed that the Falmer issue hasn't permeatted into everyone's blood by now.

So, the good news is, we don't need to go far to get hold of those that haven't yet written to Prezzer - they're all living in Brighton! The bad news is, the local population need to be woken up, and something meg needs to happen to do it.

Any ideas?
