And can I say that Gordon Brown has just made a very dignified resignation speech. I probably disagree politically with him on nearly everything, but I sincerely wish him all the best in whatever he does next.

I am not a Lib Dem supporter, but I cannot think there would be a single voter of theirs who is happy about this. So much for Clegg and his "opportunity to do things differently" bullshit at the TV debates. He has proven himself to be a power-hungry career politician like no other, and has sold out a lot of people in doing so.

Im happy(ish)

Lets just wait and see shall we, either the Cons or Labour had to get the Libs on side.

Compromises had to be made, whatever either party did people would be hacked off

Sounds like it won't be a coalition after all. I wonder if CMD just says "sod it" and sets up a minority government.

How? Your vote has gone towards putting a Conservative government in place whose policies are almost the opposite of what the Lib Dems stood for...

I'm happy because the liberal democrats will have more power than ever before and they've almost certainly negotiated some sort of referendum on electoral reform. They will also, to a certain extent, water down what I saw as an inevitable Tory government. It cannot be good to have the same party in charge for 13+ years. We'll also have a more liberal government.

This doesn't mean I'm happy to have Modern Dave in charge, but I wasn't happy with Brown either.

clegg as deputy PM? I'd rather have Foggy or Compo!!

The con/lib pact will end in tears because they are to far apart politically-I predict
another election within a year
