LIVING IN SIN
I have this arguement time after time with my mrs ,

I call myself Working class ,as i work in an office ,get paid under 20 grand and have no qualifications to speak of really.

My mrs is a trainee accountant and I would say she was working class until she qualifys,

she says she was born middle class as her mum is a school teacher & Dad a systems analyst. surely once you start work you create you own class?

whats eveyone elses opinion?

My opinion is that the unfortunate class system that has manifested itself in this country will never disappear all the time there are people making a virtue of it.

Mr Popkins, was Prince Andrew working class when he was working as a tea boy in a theatre? Afterall he was earning buttons and had just 3 O levels to his name.

Maybe you should have started a poll.

My parents divorced and both lived in council accommodation although my Mum has since bought hers.

I had a grammar school education but went to pieces doing my O levels so only have English. I work as a receptionist have never earned above 17K. Married to a press setter who works in a factory.

Def working class unlike my kids ...........

I look up to him because he is upper-class; but I look down on him because he is lower-class. I am middle-class.

If you need to work for a living you must be working class surely ?

The professions would have you believe otherwise. The ones who have a proper degree

Agree with Locky,

if you work - you're working class

If you don't - you're a lucky bastard or some 5th generation inbred (Tara Palmer tomkinson?, Prince Andrew etc etc)

All the rest is an invention of the media

We are all working class as we go and watch football and drink beer in the pub before.

However, if we went to watch Chelsea and ate prawn sandwiches beforehand would we be upper class?

My parents have developed a middle class attitude that bugs the shit out of me.
Classless is the way things should be. Except for pikeys, I f*cking hate pikeys.

In my computer
I belong to no class except the one that I set for myself...

However if you want to match me to your standards then:

I work
I pay my own way
I have a mortgage
I am a commuter
I have 15 handbags

there - put me in a box of your own choosing :)
