There doesn't to be anything in the story about Clarkson being axed, only that ITV haven't commissioned a new series after the next one.

The "format" has moved around but now appears to be owned by Sony. It's a big international thing now.

Interesting fact. The original company who made it was part owned by Jasper Carrot and his wife. When he sold it he was very much made a millionaire.
