He didn't inspire anyone yesterday. What does it say to the players if he is trotted out and Knight is left on the bench? McGhee remembering him as a better player than he is maybe?

Goater is way down the pecking order, they have Forster (currently injured), Kitson, Owusu and Sidwell all scoring goals. I think he'd make an impact for us.

Use the money to get Quincy in on loan PLEASE!!! If not, at least get that giant from Millwall.

I dont know why Knight can't be played behind two strikers like Currie was. He's no worse a defender than Currie & MM keeps saying his best work is being done outside the area. Makes sense to me

God help us if he's the best we can get. What about trying to sign the Goat from Reading, he'd give us something in the box.

Wouldnt it be nice to get the goat .. Maybe SC would do us a favour and let us have him on loan for nothing ..but i cant see that T****r Mad letting that happen.

Claridge will stay because Dick will make him manager when McGhee goes in June.

This will be the 1st time the current board has set a contingency plan in place.

goater would be quality with us and could see him working well with knight! If that isn't an option i say play knight and claridge together and virgo will have to move back into defence!

As we know that was Steve Claridge last game for us on his present contract.

He stated after last weeks game that he was about to talk to the manager about an extension. Well there is nothing on the official site about him getting one, do you think yesterday was his last game?
On a serious note. What has he actually done since returning. 6 defeats in eight games statistics are`nt very good since his return.

I think he started ok, but his performances have got worse as he's gone along, whereas I was expecting them to improve as he regained his match sharpness.

Personally, I have changed my mind and now DON'T think he's up to it. The adrenalin got him through the first couple, but he really offered us NOTHING at Millwall.

Unfortunately, he is possibly all we can afford, as his wages would not be very much at all. he just wants to stay in the limelight as that improves his chances of getting a manager job somewhere. He's not here for the money, and that's why we can afford him.

If we are not about to sign someone else (McCammon, Quincy, Dublin, Goater, Blackstock, or ZAMORA), then yes, give him another month as we have nothing else. But it doesn't fill me with optimism.
