it is a fast moving nightmare. Putin knows America and the West can't support Ukraine with anything other than words, it now comes down to how many Ukrainians are willing to die before Putin is shamed in to backing down....I fear it could be a lot.

The Russian parliament in 1992 voted to declare the 1954 gift of Crimea to Ukraine by Nikita Kruschchev as null and void. From their point of view Mother Russia wants a lost daughter back.

Similar to what happened in Kiev then at parliament , no different ! Nobody knows they are Russian soldiers , they may be Ukraine soldiers , who support the Russians .

Ukranians screwed up. All this should have happened before the olympics as Russia would have been reticent about getting involved before the showpiece. Now, the only real outcome is that Crimea, who have never really been part of Ukraine apart from 50 manufactured years, should be independent or part of Russia.

the Torygraph is a paper well within the western corps interests.

Putin is standing up to western central banks and corps looking to gain from Ukraine moving into the EU.

Good for him i say.

An article based on western (US & UK) views , I was watching Al jazeer and France 24 hour news to get a more independent view with different guests being interviewed and it is quite a different opinion i.e. not one sided .

show what? are you refering to the nationalist links? funny, BBC2 last night was highlighting the involvement of far-right Ukrainians. this is a very complex country in terms of alligence, ethinicity and national identity, little warmongers like youself might want to read up the history a bit.
