My kitchen power ring circuit breaker keeps tripping. I’ve unplugged everything that is powered by that circuit but still tripping. Am I going to have to call an electrician?

Do you have ability to buy a circuit breaker? Cut the power completely and remove the old circuit breaker? Wire up the new circuit breaker? How do you feel about doing these procedures?

I had this happen and it was due to a short in the oven.

A bit of foil had found its way into the wrong place....or something like that

Good thing is that you are safe because the box is doing its job.

I once had this problem and narrowed it down to my dish washer where a mouse had lain across electrical terminals. of course it was dead and alive.

Tell it to look where it puts its feet or it will fall flat on its face.

Or alternatively this happened to us a few years ago, and we had to replace the oven.

Why are you assuming the circuit breaker is faulty? Also asking someone with no experience to carry out this type of work is not recommended.

You have unplugged everything but have you also turned the switches off on the sockets? I've had it where the switch itself was arcing.

If it is still tripping you haven't isolated everything or am I missing something?

Could be one of the sockets.
Personally I'd be unscrewing all the plates and having a look behind, loose wires, any signs of scorching etc.
If that didn't work I'd be disconnecting them all then livening them up one by one to isolate the problem.
Mind you I do take a very liberal approach to the "competent persons" part of the regulations on my own house.

On NSC for over two decades...
Our old oven used to trip the whole lot, were advised to get a new one.
Our old oven used to give me a belt every time I used the microwave. That was partially a dodgy circuit, and also a dodgy oven. We subsequently had the house extended with a new kitchen, so everything is up to code now, but we did have to replace both the oven and microwave before that happened as the wire to the old oven properly went 'bang'.

Quite scary really, and the less said about the house wiring prior to the extension the better!
