Lucky enough to have seen the elusive Camberwell Beauty and slightly more common Swallowtail butterflies in these parts.
Also a Montagu's Harrier which is quite unusual, at first glance looks like an aggresive pigeon but on closer inspection is a decent raptor. Marsh harriers are my favourite.
At risk of upsetting the mothophiles on here, any of the furry buggers that finds itself flapping pointlessly around the light bulbs in my place is liable to a rapid and mortal encounter with a rolled up copy of the Argus. No matter how pretty its wings.
I am not a moth fan. Might be to do with Silence of the Lambs.
Good point jevs, ladybirds are poisonous to many birds...as are those caterpillars that plagued the South of England a few years ago and caused a rash to pretty much anyone who touched them.
