I'm more startled that within ten minutes, yes a whole ten minutes you chirped away with your "position", wouldnt want you negotiating my release in a hostage situation

Eh? Haven't "given away my position" at all. Just asking questions to stimulate debate, from any side of the argument. Nowhere in my comment you quoted do I give a subjective view.

I'll give you my position now - I'm not fussed.

Now, can I please be your negotiator in a hostage situation? Thanks.

Not so fast old boy,

"You are the first person to get to the nub of the debate for me"

In a hostage situation it's all about what the "Taker" peceives your negotiations to mean, get me? The above quote translates very easily to "Good at last somone who is on my wave length" Bang i'm dead shit:nono:

I can actually see smokers need to get out of the office. I used to get so so bored I used to make up excuses to go broking then got for a few bets or a coffee or even a kip in the Lloyds Library. They never sussed me out..............oh hang on:laugh:

Not going to read the whole thread but this is my position for what it's worth;

If it effects their job performace on negatively impacts on your role through their actions, then you have a problem.

If not, tough noogies.

Thank f*** I`m self-employed.

Actually I've never seen that in any place I've worked and I would bet I've been around more than most. I can't honestly say that the worship of Islam by an individual has impinged on my work in anyway either.

I have seen it once. he was the network supervisor and used to go to a quiet corner of the server room to pray for a few minutes and then came back to work. Most people never even realised he was doing it.

I have never seen even one of the muslims where I work now taking a break to pray and quite frankly I have no idea if they do so or not.

I know a lot of smokers (university = lots of people thinking it's  :wrong:), and they can survive for longer than 2 to 3 hours without satisfying their nicotine addiction.
It's wrong an discriminatory against those who don't want to smoke.
There is no need for a break every 5 -10 hours for them, and if that is the case an entire office should be allowed to also break for whatever reason they wish.

If a company employed someone who had a drink problem, it wouldn't be expected that they would allow said person to pop down the pub every 10 minutes.

Why should one drug addiction be catered for and pandered to when others aren't?

Because a tolerant society makes allowances for people with different needs.

Someone at work kicked up a fuss that people were allowed breaks for cigarettes but not for anything else. If they can fuel their addiction then why can't she be allowed to fuel hers?

Anyway, she took chocolate breaks whenever people went out for a fag, and there is f*** all your company can do about it.

I smoke, and if I need a fag I have to clock off for the time I am gone. I don't have a problem with it.
If I want a crap however, I can do that on the works time. Seems to me its a pity they banned smoking in the toilets!

I am a non smoker but have nothing AGAINST smokers.

If so then all alcoholics should be allowed a quick pint from time to time or a sex addict should be allowed to quickly go knock one out whb they have the URGE.

GOOD DEBATE

That's funny!A few years ago I found a rather expensive Breitling watch draped over the loo roll holder in a cubicle at work I dutifully handed it in to HR even though I could have knocked it out (pardon the pun) down Petticoat Lane later on. The owner sent me a very grateful email a while later. Now I know why he had taken it off he knows why he had taken it off and probably you know why he had taken it off:lolol:
