Christmas Trees - Is it chavy to put them up too soon?

I'm looking to settle an argument. I been having a chat with a couple of friends who already have their Christmas trees up. I think this is a definite chav crime - they should be up for, two weeks max (unles you have have kids maybe, which they don't).

So, is it chav, or perfectly okay?

We have put ours up this weekend, but that is because we have a small baby who loves the lights flashing and stuff. HE sits there staring at the lights, its great.

what with me being ever so slightly posh (gold membership at the cricket), I shall not be decking the halls with boughs of holly until the 18th, I shall then tra-la-la-la laa like nobodies business until the 3rd and then revert to my more sober disposition

I hope this helps

I'll have my tree up this Friday!! Can't wait!

I also have some lights to bling up the front of the house but I don't have a long ladder! Doh!

Isn't the protocol to put up decorations 12 days before Christmas and take them down 12 days after Christmas, i.e. 13th Dec - 6th Jan?

I think that once you're in December putting up decorations is fine. I just wish this was the case with retailers, who are the real scum here - late October? WTF...

To have them up before December hits the 'teens his totally, irredeemably, monstrously chav. The only thing worse is having a plastic Santa on your roof.

I take it you've all heard about the dyslexic devil-worshipper? Sold his soul to Santa?
